I don’t remember exactly the last time I visit Borobudur. It was probably more than ten years ago. But even for this second visit, Borobudur still a breath taking phenomenon for me.

We came to the temple early in the morning with hope we could take a sunrise shot, but unfortunately clouds were all over the sky. But we get another advantage of coming early. It was less crowded so that we could take pictures as many as we want without having other visitors in it.

As one of the closest neighbor to Singapore, Batam island has been attracted many Indonesian workers from another part of the country to come to this island. Batam, a part of Kepulauan Riau province is also part of Sijori Growth Triangle a partnership arrangement between Singapore, Johor (in Malaysia), and Riau (in Indonesia) that combines the competitive strengths of the three areas to make the subregion more attractive to regional and international investors[1].

On the other side, the number of low level society which are usually emigrants without skills who were attracted to this new promising land are increased. Sadly they are usually end up in an illegal land or area like this village where health and sanitation are extremely bad.

Another Jakarta is in the making.

Rain, Gas Station and Dawn

Gas station has always been a favorite one stop place for motor-bikers especially when it’s raining.

I know now is not really a good timing to post this picture. It’s a bit contradictory with the UN Climate Change Conference which is held in Bali recently where one of their issue was to improve the use of environmentally friendly vehicles. Talking about fuel reminds me about an article which I read several month ago regarding coconut oil as an alternative fuel. That could be interesting .. not only it’s environmentally friendly, your car might also smell like french fries :)
